Building Blocks
Building Blocks is a continuing exploration of positive and negative space in organic structures. Found objects and organic forms are complex interactions of individual units that develop to produce characteristic, recognisable shapes. These same objects and forms are also subject to division, rearrangement and deterioration. By using a variety of approaches to image-making, it has been possible to construct two-dimensional images from three-dimensional organic pieces. The energy of a form is expressed in stronger colour, while the gradual effects of time and division explore the tonal qualities of the images.
